Offering more power than a traditional player''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s racquet, the Shark DB racquets appeal to a wide range of players. With the Shark DB, Prince''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s Double Bridge technology first introduced in the late 1980s lives on. Offering string dampening inside the throat of the hoop, the DB technology makes for a comfortable feel at impact. As with previous editions of the DB Series, the Shark DB is available in both Midplus and Oversize headsizes.
Shark DB Midplus Aggressive players with fast swing speeds will find plenty of added zip on their shots with the Shark DB Midplus. This 100 sq. in. racquet offers plenty of maneuverability from the baseline and excellent access to spin. There''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s plenty of power on offer from the tapered beam design and we found the sweetspot to extend nicely into the upper hoop - right where today''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s heavy spin player makes contact. Serving with the Shark DB yielded similar results - plenty of pace and spin. At net we found a predictable response and enough pop to finish off the point. All in all, a solid choice for the player looking for a little extra juice without sacrificing control. Best suited to 4.0+ level players. As used by ATP professional David Ferrer.
Shark DB Oversize Players at the 3.5+ level with moderate swing speeds will find the Shark DB to offer plenty of power for effective, deep hitting. We found plenty of comfort from this racquet. Compared to the Midplus version, the Shark DB Oversize is both slightly more powerful and comfortable from all areas of the court. We noted a lot of feel on volleys with the Oversize, which combined with good maneuverability and a nice solid contact. An excellent intermediate doubles stick, the Shark DB Oversize offers enough pop to keep mid court volleys deep and on target. On faster swings, such as serves and power groundstrokes, we found good access to both topspin and slice. All in all a solid performer from all areas of the court, this one is a great choice for the player who mixes singles and double play, as well as the all court player.
